Description: IN-HOUSE COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS AND CONJUGATE HEAT TRANSFER CODES WILL BE USED TO STUDY THE EVOLUTION OF TEMPERATURE INTO CABLE INSULATORS STACKED INTO THE BCT DEGASSING CAROUSEL CHAMBER FOR SUBMARINE CABLES, BY SIMULATING AIR FLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER. THIS INVOLVES UNSTEADY RUNS ON A MULTIPROCESSOR PLATFORM. PARAMETRIC STUDIES WILL BE PERFORMED TO OPTIMIZE CABLES' HEATING, BY CONSIDERING CABLES OF DIFFERENT SIZE. IN A SECOND PHASE, THE TOPOLOGY OF THE CHAMBER THAT BRINGS HOT AIR INTO THE CAROUSEL CHAMBER WILL BE OPTIMIZED.
