Description: DISPLACEMENTS AND DEFORMATIONS DETECTION IN LARGE OR SMALLER CONSTRUCTIONS IS ONE OF THE MAIN AREAS OF EXPERTISE FOR A SURVEYING ENGINEER. THE INSTALLATION OF CONTROL POINTS, BOTH ON THE CONSTRUCTIONS AND THEIR SUNOUNDING AREAS, HAS BEEN PRACTICED SINCE ANCIENT TIMES, WITH MEASUREMENTS CONDUCTED OVER TIME USING GEOTECHNICAL AND GEODETIC METHODS. ONE SUCH CONSTRUCTION IS THE TAVROPOS DAM, WAS BUILT B Y THE PUBLIC POWER CORPORATION (PPC) BETWEEN 1955 A ND I960. IT WAS THE LARGEST CONSTRUCTION OF ITS TIME FOR THE PREFECTURE OF KARDIFSA AND WHOLE GREECE. WHILE CONTROL NETWORKS WERE INSTALLED AND MEASURED IN THE PAST USING OLDER METHODOLOGIES, RECENT YEARS HAVE SEEN A DECLINE IN SYSTEMATIC MONITORING OF DEFORMATIONS IN TWO OR THREE DIMENSIONS. THEREFORE, THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS RESEARCH IS TO CREATE AN INTEGRATED PROGRAM FOR MONITORING DISPLACEMENTS OF THE DAM. FOLLOWING MODEM TRENDS AND UTILIZING NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR MEASUREMENT, PROCESSING, AND VISUALIZATION OF DISPLACEMENTS
