Description: THE PROPOSED RESEARCH PROJECT AIMS TO CONDUCT A CLINICAL STUDY OF GREEK BEERS. THE GOAL WILL BE ACHIEVED THROUGH THE REALIZATION OF A COMPREHENSIVE PARTNERSHIP, WHICH WILL PERFECTLY COMBINE THE KNOW-HOW AND THE RESEARCH WORK OF THE UNIVERSITIES OF THE PARTNERSHIP, IN PARTICULAR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALY (UTH), WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE RESEARCH LABORATORY OF PHYSIOLOGY OF ANIMAL ORGANISMS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BIOCHEMISTRY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY AND THE NATIONAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS, AS WELL AS ITS COMPANIES, IN PARTICULAR B & F CONSULTING AND MIKROZYTHOPOIIA KYKLADES IN TINOS. THE OBJECT OF THE PROJECT IS THE EVALUATION OF THE BIOACTIVITY OF GREEK BEERS IN ORDER TO HIGHLIGHT THE NUTRITIONAL AND ADDED VALUE OF THE FINAL PRODUCTS. WITH THIS AIM, A NUMBER OF BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF THE BEERS OF THE PARTNERSHIP COMPANY WILL BE DETERMINED. AS PART OF THE PROJECT, THE BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF THE BEER WITH THE HIGHEST ANTIOXIDANT CAPACITY WILL BE EVALUATED IN A CLINICAL STUDY WITH A SPECIFIC NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS, APPROVED BY THE BIOETHICS AND ETHICS COMMITTEE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THESSALY. BLOOD SAMPLES TAKEN FROM THE VOLUNTEERS, BEFORE AND AFTER ADMINISTRATION OF THE BEER, WILL BE SUBJECTED TO BIOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS TO ASSESS MARKERS RELATED TO METABOLIC HEALTH.
