Description: | THE ITRUST6G PROJECT ENVISIONS A COMPREHENSIVE SECURITY ARCHITECTURE FOR 6G NETWORKS, EMPLOYING A SOFTWARE-DEFINED, ZERO-TRUST APPROACH AUGMENTED BY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING FOR THREAT DETECTION AND PREDICTION. IT EMPHASIZES FOUR CORE PILLARS: 1) ZERO-TRUST AND AI/ML-BASED ANOMALY DETECTION, 2) CONTINUOUS COMPLIANCE MONITORING AND THREAT ASSESSMENT, 3) INTENT-BASED SECURITY POLICY FOR EXPLAINABLE AI/ML SECURITY ORCHESTRATION, AND 4) ENHANCED OBSERVABILITY THROUGH PROGRAMMABLE INTERFACES AND SECURE MULTI-TENANCY. THE ARCHITECTURE AIMS TO ADDRESS CHALLENGES SUCH AS LIMITED TRUST BETWEEN 6G PLATFORM PROVIDERS AND SERVICE OPERATORS, SECURE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, THE APPLICATION OF AI/ML FOR TRUST INFERENCE, POLICY FRAMEWORKS ALIGNED WITH THE NIS2 STANDARDS, AND END-TO-END INTELLIGENT SECURITY ORCHESTRATION FOR SERVICE CONTINUITY. THE OVERALL OBJECTIVE IS TO ENHANCE BOTH THE SECURITY AND THE TRUSTWORTHINESS OF 6G NETWORKS. |
